First and Second Session of NATO

The last two week’s sessions have seen NATO discuss intently Georgia’s ascension to the MAP. Several member states did see this very skeptically as it no doubt would escalate the situation in the already highly unstable region.
Nonetheless under the forceful negotiation done by the United States a draft resolution concerning this issue is on the floor now. Furthermore, any attempt at increasing military spending have been stopped in their tracks.
Lastly, by the end of the session a short communique has also been presented to the member states that generally outlines NATO’s stance on the Caucasus as a whole, that was received unanimously and is sure to pass the final voting, probably. The last NATO session in this cycle will culminate this Thursday with consensus voting so we very much look forward to seeing you there for another evening of fruitful and heated debate.
