This semester ETH MUN visited KAMUN in Karlsruhe, Germany as PolyMUN, a joint Delegation with EPFLMUN. The delegation consisted of 11 delegates representing 9 countries and an NGO across 4 committees. In the Futuristic UNSC, delegates traveled to 2035 where they had to resolve a crisis brought on by Türkiye developing nuclear weapons while also dealing with a shift in the world’s balance of power. In the UNHRC, delegates addressed the ongoing Rohingya crisis in Myanmar. Delegates in ECOSOC discussed de-dollarization and delegates in the UNCSD focused on the pressing issue of water security.
Outside of committee sessions, we had the opportunity to socialize with delegates from around the world and even attended a masquerade ball inside a Karlsruhe Palace!
Overall, it was an excellent few days filled with excellent debate, thought-provoking discussions, and, of course, lots of memes.
