Last weekend a delegation of six people defied the cold and windy weather in North England to attend YorkMUN. The well-organised conference kicked off with an interesting talk about the future of NATO by Sir Lawrence Freedman and an intensive committee session on Friday afternoon. In the evening, a gala dinner and champagne supernova provided the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better. After three exhausting, yet productive and rewarding committee sessions on Saturday, we enjoyed dinner with the whole delegation at an all-you-can-eat buffet as well as an extensive walk through the old town. Afterwards, we danced our hearts out with our fellow delegates and chairs at the silent disco. Slightly tired after a short night, we all threw ourselves into another long day of committee sessions on Sunday. Having worked hard all weekend, we passed resolutions in committee, returned verdicts in the ICJ and started a civil war in England. All in all, we had an amazing weekend filled with a lot of fun and great experiences.
In addition to all of that, we were also quite successful and won the best delegation award. I would also like to use this opportunity to congratulate Daniel Archer (IJC) and Amy Blaetter (NATO) for winning the best delegate award in their respective committees and Corentin Pfister (ASEAN) for his distinguished delegate award.
